Chicken-wire Vik an informer?
Lajos Simicska, the media oligarch whose business success has been linked to his close affiliation with Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, said yesterday that Orbán informed on him to the communist secret service authorities when they served together as soldiers about 30 years ago.
That would help explain this, no?
Over the years, rumors have persisted that the reason Fidesz possessed a lukewarm attitude toward uncovering the communist past was because it would shine an uncomfortable light on some of its members’ parents, a rumor this vote reinforces. But the question that this vote also raises is whether it is only the activities of their parents that some Fidesz parliamentarians would prefer remain hidden?
Cue the Pink Panther music, as certain Orban-worshipping mainstreamers start to slink away.
